Yes, dealers who sell in our Exhibitor's Hall do browse our boards. So if you have anything, specific or general, that you'd like to see in the Exhibitor's Hall at con, post it here.

Yes, there was a previous thread, but it was long and out-of-date, so I made a new one.

The thread may have been long and old but there were several recent posts in it, including mine!

Long story short. I didn't buy anything in the exhibitors' hall during Sakura-Con 2007. I wanted to. In fact, I usually spend close to $100 in the exhibitors' hall, but I generally spend most of it on the one thing that was in very short supply this year: CDs, especially import CDs. I was actively looking for a few CD titles this year...

The only CDs I saw this year were a few scattered American release game soundtracks and that table selling videos and CDs of a very few visual kei jrock artists like Malice Mizer. What happened to those exhibitors we had in past years with several tables full of CDs?

Things I buy in the exhibitors' hall: CDs (anime and J-rock) and music related DVDs (region 2 ok), shitajiki, and keychain dolls. A couple of my daughters bought Sonic the Hedgehog plushies. Cultural items are good too. ^-^

Actually, it was requested by Sabrina to archive the older posts to make way for new ones for 2008. Given that the old thread had been around for many years, I archived that one as well, to start a fresh one, the same way the Weapons Policy thread was archived to make way for a new one.

Omg you like keychain dolls too? those are my favorite!!!

But onto my suggestions...I like cultural items too...kimonos, fans (saw those this year..was like "very nice. How much?") was disappointed that I could not find many of the non-mainstream animes (my favorite in particular "Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan")

What I really want to see is that the merchants are not all selling the same thing. I understand they all probably go to the same company or factory to get their stuff, but I wish they could have a bit more variety. at least the variety this year was better than last year.

Summary: Wants: Non-mainstream items, cultural items, more variety, more keychains (I was looking for one that I got last year to replace my now-lost one, couldn't find the poor tifa keycahin :x )

I also really liked browsing through the kimono's a seller brought, some nice asian cultural items and of course anything related to the Goddess series.

I'm looking for older anime figurines and collectables of that nature. It's what I always purchase, and they are in short supply in Japan, which only carries the here and now. (I know, I was in akihabara in May.... NOTHING ; ; )

Specifically I'm looking for the other uchuu no Stellvia Story!image figurines. Not Shipon, since she is 1) the easiest to find and 2) I already have her. I know it isn't a very popular series, but I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for merch from it. Last year, Anime USA had the gasophon set, and I was soooo happy!

Also Hetero-pairing non-hentai doujin would be nice. It's easy to find boy-love/girl-girl doujin, sexually explicit doujin and anything else of the sort. Maybe they just sell out of the tame stuff really fast, before I get my 1/2 hour to rush through the Dealer's hall?

...What is this "tame stuff" you speak of? I've never come across such a relic in all my travels.

But in all seriousness, I'd buy this stuff up. As much as I support, and are even amused by, the many adventures of Adam and Steve, Eve and Eve-2, and Eve vs. the tentacle monster, a little hetero-pairing never hurt no one.

Oh, and there really wasn't a lot of it. Worked the hall this year, and saw no sort of "tame-rush".

My personal idiosyncracies include: shot glasses and coffe/tea mugs

Japan makes sexy awesome of both these things both reasonable in quality and price. (I got a lovely Jigoku Shoujo tea cup in Japan for 800yen. Good times!)
I look for these every time, sometimes finding winners (like my Helling "Speak With Dead" shot glass) and usually not.

Yukata under 50$ would be favorite, and maybe more varied candy selections? I know a lot of people go to Uwajimaya, but some of us (especially thosein complicated costumes) would love to get a better selection at the con. The 2nd to last year it was in SeaTac there was a booth with sweet mochi candy, I'd love to see that again.

Cheap posters. Like, 10 and under. Of things this year would be favorite!

OH YES--Discount manga! There was lots of this, and I need more! I dropped like $100 on manga I really, really didn't need and would do it again in a second!

Underrated series I'd buy stuff from:
Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne/Full Moon wo Sagashite
Slayers!
Sorcerer Hunters

New Series:
Seto no Hanayome
Darker than Black
Saiunkoku Monogatari
Hayate no Gotoku

So:
shot glasses
mugs/cups (ceramic)
yukata
more KINDS of candy!
discount manga
cheap posters
and naturally, more esoteric series stuff

ps: "stuff in a box for a buck" always wins.

More kids cloths. I found it hard to find anything for Alex last year.

Also more things that can be outside. Not sure how to explain that.... I guess things like kites, frisbees, balls, etc. Things for anime fans to use outside. TV and computers are not the only light ya know.

I didn't get to buy anything this year....
But I heard there was one that had dresses for $20-$40 per...that's really affordable, and Mira got one.

So...I'd like to see more affordable dresses/cosplays. =3
I don't know if there is a vendor who sells wigs...but affordable wigs with good quality would also be cool~! =3

As for Cultural....
Any Geta, Zouri, Tabi (all traditional Japanese foot wear) sold?
Kanzashi (Japanese traditional hair pieces) would be nice too.

Any new/popular Japanese normal clothing, shirts, skirts, belts, bags??
I think that would be cool to have too. A vendor who sells up-to-date Japanese fashion~! Maybe even take catalog and mailing services if your size isn't available.

fashionable Japanese clothes in the 10 to 16 size range would probably go over well too, I recall lots of Japanese fashion being too dang skinny or small for most people.

Well, I think there should be a lot more Yu Yu Hakusho merchandise available... I had to search the entire hall before I found a single YYH wallscroll, and the comparison of what I found for that show was very little compared to many other shows of its time. =] It was an extremely popular series back when it was created and when it came out in the US, and as far as I know is still a well-known anime in Japan today =o

I want to see more Asian arts and crafts, like reproductions of Ukiyo-e pictures and Chinese ink paintings. And I also want to see more Japanese clothes sellers (I'm still looking for a pair of white zori). And I also want to see more merchandise from older/classis/vintage anime (like Slam Dunk...)

I agree with alindasue. I'd like to see more CDs, especially J-rock and J-pop. And something more than just what's from Uwajimaya. Also, music video DVDs.

I'd also like to see more Japanese movies and dramas.

And definitely more punk/gothic lolita clothing, magazines, etc. Actually, any popular clothing and books/magazines featuring Japanese fashion, except for Fruits. I don't care too much for their books. =\

I know it's a rather new series, but I'm going to be hot on the trail of anything Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. If anyone brings doujinshi, keychains, figurines, artbooks, or maybe plushies of this series it will be mine. =D

Yami no Mastuei (descendants of darkness) merch would be greatly appreciated. It's older, but I'm always looking.

I haven't seen any pencil boards the last couple cons. A really wide-spread random collection of pencil boards really catches my interest, since I use them as baby-posters (They take up less space so I can get more loveliness on my walls.) This last kumoicon I found a Flame of Recca board that I spent $12 on, even though one side was black and white. ^^;

This last request always depends on who's bringing books- but I'm really really interested in yaoi art books. I find them to be higher in quality style than doujinshi, and I don't need to invest time to get them translated. I have only a few, but I'm yearning to expand my collection. Bring some 18+ for the adults, we purchase too~

i was hoping to see more imported anime, maybe i was just lookin in the wrong places?

pencil boards were there but there werent that many from wat i remember (much less a very big variety).

i would definetly like to see maybe someone who would do japanese magazine subscriptions and more up to date stuff in japan.

like so many others have said on this board i would also like to see up to date fashion apparell stuff.

In short:
imoported anime (current or recent anime in japan)
pencil boards (more variety)
current trendy stuff

In shorter terms  :
dont wanna have to wait the year and a half to finally get licensed stuff (no bootlegged stuff either) official japanese releases

Also, Hoodies that come in 2x, and ARE NOT Naruto/other shonen. Really, any girl-type merchandise in that size would make me ECSTATIC. I mean, T-shirts in 2X sized for men fit my boobs, but hang to my knees/elbows (I'm 5'2") Just because we're chubby doesn't mean we don't like things to have shape, anime merchandiser people!

I would like to see more rozen maiden merchandise. I have been looking for the figures for a little while, but haven't found them anywhere where they haven't been overpriced to the max. They would probably sell well because of the success of 4chan (after all, Suiseiseki is one of the bigger memes, desu)

I would like to see some Lucky Star merchandise. things like the figurines and posters and wallscrolls of the like. that's the stuff that I buy in the exhibitors hall.

Although it's wishful thinking to want "rare" things to be on sale there. Last year I didn't find any Suzumiya Haruhi wall scrolls or fate stay night wall scroll. I found the fate stay night one in Kumoricon and bought my Haruhi one on the internet. Haruhi figurines were kinda on the low as well. There's a bunch of stuff that probably I would buy there and would find value in them because they're simply not so popular here so nobody would buy them therefore it won't be profitable for the merchants to carry any of that. :(

I'd like to see more D. Gray Man stuff <3 like wallets, dōjinshi messenger bags, key chains, phone charms, plushies and figurines. I really want some lavi merchandise (the redhead guy from d.gray man) X3
Also other shows that would be good to get merchandise stuff from are (and i've asked a couple people what they want that i'm posting ;D ) :
Death Note (bags, keychains, dōjinshi, figures (especially those "Nendoroido" chibi figures), dvds that are not expensive, plushies )
Fullmetal Alchemist (dōjinshi, plushies, artbooks, pillows, cute things)
Bleach (Cosplay items, necklaces, art books, plushies, dōjinshi, figurines)
Lovely Complex (messenger bags, anything!)
Black Lagoon (pretty much anything interesting =D )
Gravitation (i'm looking for the OVA dvd and a messenger bag(the one with shuichi hugging the bunny X3 )
Trinity Blood (figures, artbooks, etc)
Claymore (cosplay items, keychains, posters, etc)
Fruits Basket (dōjinshi, figurines, posters, art books!)
Naruto (dōjinshi, figurines, plushies, cosplay items, keychains)
Fullmetal Panic! (dōjinshi, keychains, etc)

i also agree that there should be some japanese clothes =3 kimonos and things like that are awesome if they are priced reasonably =D oh also some of those samurai sandals and socks would be cool (i cant remember the name of them ^^; )

also discounted manga, dvds (like under 20 bucks a dvd otherwise i'll just go to bestbuy and get it =/ ), japanese candy/snacks and if they are allowed to sell japanese wepons that'd be awesome =3 i collect that stuff XD

Something I would love to see from Sakura Con would be a con pin like the ones they have at AX, there are only so many FMA pins I can get for each con I go to, I would really like to have a SC pin for my bag!
