2010 Cosplay Parade! [More info added~!]

Hello everyone,

It's that time of year again!

Time for the 4th Annual Cosplay Parade that is a part of the Chinatown Seafair Parade!

It's going to be held on July 25th in the International District, meet up is at 10th and king st. The actual parade begins at 7PM and we begin gathering around 4:30-5PM to be fully lined up before 6PM.

A few reminders:
---Please bring water
---Comfortable shoes
---A suitable weather and family friendly costume

PS: And we are not requiring the RSVP this year, and more information on the parade will be released as we get it!

You've waited for it all year! Come join the fun! Put on your best cosplay and come show Seattle how cosplay is done. It's our time to shine and drum up support for our favorite Seattle Anime Con.

Rules/reminders:

Please bring water, sunscreen and any snacks or medication you might need. Cameras are encouraged (please send your pics into publicity@sakuracon.org to share!).

Costume and behavior guidelines: Please Observe the General Sakura-Con Weapons policies:http://sakuracon.org/aboutus/policies.php-note this now includes not allowing any formerly firing projectile device-such as disabled airsoft guns, etc. If you have a "gun" prop it must not have or ever have had the ability to fire or have parts on it that fit that same criteria. Please read the policies for full details regarding other weapons and props.

Additionally, we ask you to keep in mind that the parade is a family event and your costume should be in keeping with that fact.

Please observe courtesy with your fellow parade participants and be sure to listen and follow the instructions of the Team Sakura organizers at the event.

We reserve the right to refuse participation to any potential participant based on costume or behavior concerns, etc. (But you guys have been so awesome we've never had to do that!) If you have any specific questions please contact public_relations@sakuracon.org

Sorry for the delay in getting the RSVP form up; busy times for some of us in other places, heh. I was coming here to grab some text for a form I was testing out today -- to get it ready by the General Meeting tomorrow -- when I saw you aren't doing the RSVP this time. It can be ready for next time! (Or see me at the meeting to nudge it up after all, heh!) ^_^'

No worries, we were originally planning to do one then the timelines got shifted a bit and we ran out of time to get it announced and posted.
So, we're just going with the "adaptive management plan" ... ie we let everyone know about it, gather at the event, get lined up and then march and have a ton of fun ^.^

Oh and I get to be the loud obnoxious one with the megaphone this year...

A huge thank you to all who came out and marched in the parade. It was insanely hot and you were all amazing to deal with that and the wait times from the organizers.

In the end, we pulled off a pretty impressive parade. You showed them the Awesomeness of Sakura-Con.

Note to self; 90 degrees plus head to toe pleather is BAD plan. Pff, who am i kidding? I'm gonna keep doing it.

But what was with random people jumping in and getting in the way? You don't see other bands/groups allowing that crap. Chasing them off with Mugen was effective enough though.

Yeah, I guess they figured it was okay or something just because it's a bunch of people walking - no float. Which isn't exactly true, but y'know. People do silly things sometimes =/

Still, I had a lot of fun, even though the wait was long XD; Even worse than being in marching band... Although it's not the 'Con's fault, since parade times do that x_x; Maybe one day they'll give us a place in the middle of the parade instead of the end...
