Dance genre suggestion

Postby omarfw » Sun Jul 25, 2010 2:45 am

I feel that a lot of the con varies every year, but the music played at the dances doesn't seem to.

I for one would love to hear some DnB and I know for a fact that there are just as many fans of the genre as there is for every other genre that the con usually has, DJ wise.

Breaks can go bye bye. Replace it with a DnB DJ. It's far more danceable.

Hell I wouldn't even mind some disco.

(I would apply to DJ a DnB set myself, but i'd much rather be out on the floor enjoying the con honestly)

Frankly I am getting really sick of hearing the same happy hardcore crap over and over every year. I'd be down for hearing more DnB, but I'd also like to hear some hardstyle and trance and whatnot.

that's true. hardstyle would be cool too. happy hardcore, while completely fitting for this kind of convention, is getting a bit old.

I don't really know what any of those terms mean (happyhardcore, trance, DnB [stands for drum and bass, I know, but I don't listen to it so I can't identify what it sounds like]), however I did notice a lot of the same music being played this year and it was getting kind of old.

Disco would be fun! Not all night, just a couple tracks to break up the monotony.
If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done.

happy hardcore can only be strung so far... DnB!!
I think disco is a wonderful suggestion. Call me unusual, but I could
stand to hear some Bee Gees! It's in my car's playlist, too~ xD

It would kinda smear the definition of "rave" though..
So.. Even out the amounts of happy hardcore with other popular styles?

Disco kinda creeps me out, As a lover of the raves. o-o;
But i do agree, The tracks played should vary in the genre.

I myself would love to hear some Gabber.
Its a bit harder, Well alot depending on who your playing.
And i do agree,
Breaking away too far from the happyhardcore might smear the ambiance.
Another suggestion though,
I'd love to hear some more anime songs being worked into songs.

I saw alot of anime on the screens,
But never in the songs.
And i love trace/house music with some anime worked in.
I was only there until 1am, [damn minor. ;~;]
So they may have played more after that time.
But i only heard one.
