What is posted in this thread?
A number of things will get posted in this thread:
a) Removals of Threads - When a thread gets removed, we'll post here.
b) Movement of Threads - Not all threads that are moved will get posted. here (example: A Cosplay thread that was originally posted in General Discussion, or a "let's get together" thread that was originally posted in General Convention).
c) General Reminders - If something seems to be occurring often, we'll make sure everyone sees it here.
d) Other major things for everyone to know

The Staff Forums have had rollover, so that only current 2009 staff can view them.

If you are registered as 2009 staff, please contact Dessa with your name, e-mail, position, and supervisor, so that it can be confirmed that you have registered.

Several cosplay skit threads were moved from Cosplay and Photoshoots to the Cosplay Contest subforum in Main Events. Please use Cosplay Contest for these threads, so they do not get lost in general cosplay discussion.

Hey, did some Global Announcement housekeeping today!

"Sakura-Con 2009 Commercial is done!!!!" has been changed to an Announcement, and can be found in the "Merchandising, Press, Publications, and Publicity" forum

"Official Starship Sakura Fan Fic Submission Thread" has been changed to a sticky, and can be found in the "Dances" subforum within "Main Events"


"Sakura-Con Mascot Contest - THREE DAY deadline" will be Archived once the contest ends at Midnight on March 1st. Contact info to make sure your entry went through will still be available.

"The Wired Returns to Sakura-Con!" will be moved to the "Gaming" forum on March 1st, as well.



In other news, see that pretty pink bar that says "Forum Rules" at the top of every forum/thread? That link takes you directly to the Sakura-Con Message Board Code of Conduct. We're currently looking to see if we can change the text.

Yes, our commercial has been made into a meme on 4chan. Yes, there are parodies of it on youtube. NO you may not link to videos on youtube that have inappropriate content. Yes, this includes talk of "tentacle rape" and "pornography" being at Sakura-Con.

As it seems that there are a number of people who do not understand this, I feel it must be explained.

Content may not include comments, links, or images that are inappropriate in nature in regards to profanity, nudity, explicit sexual acts or illegal drug use.

Yes, this extends to words that are being used as slang. As such, the word "rape" is NEVER appropriate to be used on the board, regardless of if it is being used as slang.

You might have noticed that some of the the subforums have disappeared, and a few new ones have popped up. Don't worry, this is all part of my nefarious wonderful plan to make the forums work nicer for everyone.

Here's a quick rundown of the changes, so you know where to look for old threads, and where to put new ones.

You may have noticed, in the forums where subforums were added/removed, that there are strange empty posts that you may or may not be able to view, and the threads may seem out of order.

We are aware of the situation, and looking into how to fix it. If you are concerned that you cannot find a thread with new posts, you can always use "view posts since last visit" on the main page.

Clarification of what is and is not allowed to be posted in the "NW Anime Clubs, Gatherings, and Cultural Events" forum and a generic guideline to this has been posted in that forum. It is viewable here.

You may have noticed a new forum go up. It is currently locked so the required threads can go up, but it will be unlocked soon.

When it is unlocked, it is important that you read everything before posting. We have specific guidelines we have to follow for our elections, so we want to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Nominations for the 2011 Executive Board have closed, and the threads have been locked. Voting members, remember to either send in your absentee votes, or come to the elections meeting, to make your voice heard.
