Yeah, even though this isn't out yet, it would be rad to have one at the con. Especially since one of the guests if so in-tune with DDR. They'd probably enjoy seeing people playing it.

Cabinet wouldn't fit in the elevators; we'd need a crane to get it in the building lol.

Wouldn't be worth it; just find a copy of ITG2.

Honestly, I wouldn't play (let around run another tournament) on anything other than a SuperNOVA or older or an ITG2 cabinet. SN2 and DDR X are crap.

Just to let u know if u are not aware of this.. ITG All together is BANNED all together cause Konami Sued the crap out of them for using there Cabinets.
Plus to me ITG is Over rated u pump it up it better then ITG if your up to FreeStyle.

The new cab is actually about the same size as the old cabs, from the looks of it. They kind of just took the sides off and moved them to the front.

ITG2 is an okay game too, but its nothing to really get excited about, unless you care about quad-starring 12s or playing R21 or hacked ITG.

If we can't get an AC cabinet, I'd be fine as long as we can get a decent console station for DDR/ITG/whatever too.

Actually, DDR is still pretty popular guy!

How do you know that ITG is banned? Did you read that Konami actually owns the rights to ITG now?

Tofu, How do you know DDRX is crap when you haven't played it yet? Let's not forcefeed people opinions until we've tried these things out.

I may have more news on DDR at some point.

Well the Reason i said Banned is cause Konami did sue Raxor for there Fault's in using there Cabinet. and more like sound like Raxor lost the Rights and gave them to Konami cause they where sued..

But i would not be Shocked if Raxor people worked with Konami on DDR X.
But no chance there will be a ITG 3..more or less.

The game isn't banned. They just can't produce the game anymore due to cease and desist. Some arcade vendors still have used cabinets and whatnot in their stock lists, so they randomly show up at places. That Great Wolf Lodge place in Grand Mound opened up and had an ITG2 cab, which was kind of surprising.

Konami simply sued over Intellectual Property rights. They acquired all rights to the series legally. This means that all ITG2 machines are still legal, as long as RoXoR hasn't made them since handing over the IP rights. I'm going to be buying a couple of Solo cabs, gutting them, putting the hardware in my own cabinets, and installing ITG2 and my own pads in both of them eventually; hopefully before Sakuracon 2010, in which case I can bring it in legally; fully functional.

Tofu, How do you know DDRX is crap when you haven't played it yet? Let's not forcefeed people opinions until we've tried these things out.
The scoring system is BS, there is no recordkeeping, we have to rely on either nonexistent networks or Konami giving us updates to unlock songs, their charts are all autogen'd except a handful of boss songs that are still being done by hand, there are no BG vids, and their new Digital I/O boards are EXTREMELY glitchy.

That's how I know; sorry to rain on the parade, but a new bigger, heavier cabinet isn't going to bring DDR the following it needs to come back; a new, lighter cabinet, 5.1 Surround Sound, better stepcharts, a real EX scoring system, proper engineering, an unlock method that's worked well for 8 years, and a highscore board will.

Those are all qualities of ITG and ITG2; it's a well made game and R21 means that it doesn't matter if you like the songs or not: you can dance to whatever you want, including over 1100 DDR tracks that you can find online.

EDIT: Sorry if I'm coming across really negative. I just really love DDR 3rd Mix up through DDR Extreme. DDR SuperNOVA had some issues that could be expected, but DDRSuperNOVA2 was a huge letdown. I was really disappointed by how little Konami was able to cater to the actual desires of their market. I love DDR; you know that, Jon, but I HATE what Konami's doing with it.

DDR died with Extreme. Maybe eventually Konami will get it back on track, but it's unlikely. ITG 2 is obviously the superior choice because of its infinite flexibility with R21. Only downside is that a lot of the cabinets are starting to get run down due to age, though, with proper maintenance that's not really a problem.

And as far as ITG being banned, that's silly, Konami owns the In The Groove name.

The DDR X pads blow so bad and a bad design of the making of the pads after playing it like 10 + times.

nice having E-Muse when no arcade sells them in the states and u have to use a japanese E-Muse card just to save your data.
with japan sold the states there ver of the cabs cause there are alot better overall.

DDR died after 5th mix or more 4th mix plus but extreme just kept it from sinking to the bottom of despair.
